Kim Philip - Architecture & Design :: Since graduating as Senior Scholar in Architecture from the University of Auckland, Kim worked as an Architectural Graduate / Design Assistant for leading design-focused firm, Patterson Associates. He also tutored part-time at two universities, specializing in digital architectural communication. Kim moved to Berlin late 2009 in search of new pursuits. He enjoys personal architectural explorations into logic / systems and design rationale, planned versus appropriated space, mapping and cognitive processes, chaos theory and natural order. Words and images can be carefully arranged or smashed together to obscure or illuminate, to explain or to question, to harmonize or explode. Sometimes these are conscious compositions, sometimes it's just the way everything settles once the shaking stops. I am interested in new, transparent and collaborative ways of working in artistic and innovative projects, and I'd like to see how ideas from other disciplines and working systems can affect the creative process and the finished outcome.
